Write For Us: Share with Later in Life Moms & Beyond

Want to Blog for Us?

Have you always wanted to blog and didn’t know how to get started?  Are you an experienced mommy blogger who would like to share with our later in life parent community?  Are you a parenting expert?  Author?  Someone with wisdom to share of interest to moms over 35?  Do you have a compelling story or point of view that will resonate with or intrigue others?  Do you enjoy theatre?

If so, we’d love to hear from you.  Drop us a note explaining why you’d like to write for our later in life moms organization, what you envision covering, a bit about yourself, and please include a writing sample.  Let us know if  you currently blog or have a website (not that you have to).

Which type of Blogger opportunity is best for you?

1. Our Featured Later in Life Mom Bloggers write regular, and each has their unique voice/style/life experience.  This is what we look for.

2. Contributing Bloggers write for us regularly.  Our preference is experts and authors with tips/wisdom to share.

3. Guest Bloggers, often experts and/or authors, contribute typically on a one time basis.  We look for more than inspiration…a strong takeaway message, and ideally advice, wisdom, tips that will resonate with our readers and that they may apply to their lives.  We ask that you submit topic ideas before writing the full piece, so we may agree in advance on the subject.  And, we respectfully reserve the right to suggest edits, if needed, in an effort to offer high quality content that we take pride in sharing with our readers. If you are an author, you may send us a copy of the book for perusal, and we can suggest potential topics or possible book excerpt if deemed viable.

4. Theatre Critics…If you enjoy seeing shows and have a discerning eye, we periodically feature theatre reviews.  No experience is needed.

We are unable to pay, but offer exposure.  As a Featured Blogger, we post your head shot, name and link to a full bio.  As a Contributing Blogger, we list your name and link to your personal URL.  As a Guest Blogger, you may include a head shot and book cover (if an author) and brief bio with a link to your personal URL.

Some Guidelines:

We do not accept commercially based material.  Ideally, the piece is original for us and may later be published elsewhere, if cited “as first published on MotherhoodLater.com.”

Piece length: 800 words, give or take.  Bullet points work too.  Book excerpts may be explored and agreed upon.  All pieces must be submitted to us as a word document.

Upon rare occasion, pieces may be rejected if they don’t meet our expectations.

If you are an author or own a business or were hired by a business to write about them, please do not plug it in your blog post or include a text link.  You may feature it in your bio.  We appreciate your writing for us, and want to support your efforts, but we don’t publish blatantly promotional blogs unless they are sponsored.  We do not permit third party plugs, unless agreed upon upfront.

Would feature your photo and/or book jacket if you’re an author.

The piece should be titled, and feature a one paragraph bio at the end, including a link to any site you’d like featured.

Once published on our site, you would be sent a link, and we invite you to post it on Facebook, etc.

In addition to running on MotherhoodLater.com, the blog for us also runs on social media.
