Magical Nights Inc presents New York’s longest running Off-Broadway magic show, Monday Night Magic. Each week at the The Players Theatre you’ll find a different array of stage magicians performing magic in an intimate theatrical setting. (Every show features at least 6 internationally renowned magicians.) In addition to the magic on-stage, the fun continues during intermission as sleight-of-hand close-up magicians mingle with guests in the Close-Up Gallery as well as in the theater.

When: Every Monday Night

115 MacDougal Street, NYC

They have provided “magic” talent (and more) for evenings at the Palladium (for 3,000 New York singles); the Museum of Natural History working with party planner Holly Heston (yes; Charlton’s daughter!); on New Years Eve they performed on The Intrepid (the aircraft carrier) at their annual ball; for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, they appeared at the Marriott Marquis (in their Grand Ballroom) for over 1,800 people and at SUCCESS Magazine’s Entrepreneurial Conference they mingled with celebrities and attendees throughout the three day gathering.

This show is a New York gem.  The magicians are first rate, and the MC the evening my son and I went, Harrison Greenbaum, was  hysterical and adept at rapid-fire comedic thinking on his feet and engaging the audience.  It was a treat to get up close ‘n personal during intermission to witness magic tricks, and my son was totally mesmerized.  The seasoned Michael Chaut, producing founder, also performed, and his charismatic blend of (“how did he do that?!) magic kept the audience on their toes, and there was plenty of audience interaction…..always fun.

If you’re a fan of magic, sprinkled with comedy, check out MONDAY NIGHT MAGIC.

improv4kids Improv 4 Kids – by Comedy Troupe Eight Is Never Enough – features professional actors, singers and comics creating original theater, music and comedy based on audience suggestions. Many scenes require audience participation, and it’s a lot of fun for kids to participate and parents to watch.  My son had a ball, as did all of the kids in the packed audience the afternoon we went.

The troupe also hosts shows and workshops for vacation camps and after school programs. In addition to being a great cultural arts experience, Improv 4 Kids teaches creativity (writing/thinking), community (team, listening, respect) and leadership (public speaking, self respect / confidence, eye contact) skills. The troupe presents over 400 shows for K-12 schools, camps, after schools, scouts, JCCs and more via field trips to the Times Square Theater or touring nationwide.

The troupe presents public classes for kids, teens and adults weekly at the NYC Club as well as sending professional teachers to schools and organizations throughout the tri-state area for workshops and residencies.
