When the weather begins to sore into the upper nineties and over one-hundred degrees, it’s time to escape indoors for a little fun. I have three great DVD reviews for our readers! For Mom’s who want to catch up on their exercise when the temperature reaches the hundreds, we have a terrific workout to help them stay in shape! With the three 10-minute circuits, I was able to put the DVD on pause, throw the laundry into the dryer, then resume to the next circuit! I tried the video a few days later, when my son was at home. I was actually able to finish the entire workout, despite calls from my son to help him find things or prepare a snack. I give Power Workout kudos for helpings busy Moms stay fit while still being able to fulfill their full-time role as “Mom!”

While I was finishing up my Kristi workout, I decided to have my son watch this exciting DVD before I joined him. I kept hearing calls of, “Mommy! You have to come see this!” Once I finished my workout, I sat down to watch with my son. Knowing all about Transformers characters, my son was able to fill me in on who were the “good guys” and who were not. Once I got a handle on these characters, it was much easier to follow and enjoy! We spent an exceedingly hot afternoon together, bonding and cheering on the famed Transformers that we know and loved!

My son is a fan of the current television version of Power Rangers. When I told him I had a DVD of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers from the time of their initial debut, he was extremely excited! Because I remembered the original Power Rangers, this DVD was easier for me to follow. I especially liked the fact that these episodes fostered loyalty, teamwork, responsibility and respect. More children’s shows should carry the same message in today’s world. Because this DVD had 30 episodes, we spaced them out over many days and discussed the theme of each episode once it was over. By doing this, my son was able to pin-point where the “lesson” in each of the episodes was as well as describe why certain characters acted in moral ways. I am a big fan of television shows that are exciting enough to catch the attention of growing children, but also share a positive message along the way!
