And the days begin to run together – by Lisa Kelly

As summer rages on like a fast moving wildfire, all of my days begin to blur together.  My first thought upon waking was that I forgot to blog yesterday.  Wait… was it yesterday?  Ah, yes.

Yesterday was a long day.  Entering week 30 means my doctor appointments are now every two weeks instead of once a month.  Knocked that out early in the morning, taking only a brief moment to sulk over gaining a pound too much.   Then it was off to base to apply for my dependent ID card.  Oh yeah, there’s that.  I got married last week on July 5th!  Total spur of the moment plan that began at noon and was in the bag at 4PM.  Since I live on the edge like that, I feel like I missed nothing.  (except cake!)  The response from friends and family who felt left out was completely overwhelming.   I’m still trying to wrap my brain around how my ceremony, that was not a big deal to me, became such a big deal to others.   It did serve to point out who my truly supportive friends are and I appreciate that insight.

I didn’t get my ID yesterday as the government is anything but efficient.  I did lose two hours of work and won the golden opportunity to do so again today!  After work last night I had to catch up on the homework I missed while trying to visit family and get married. Another day gone.  Life slows for no reason it seems.  Another revelation this morning is that I basically have two months left to get ready for the baby.  Wasn’t it just two months ago I was looking at an ultrasound picture of a yolk sac?   I still have the list of things I need to do like find a pediatrician, select a daycare, contact my HR office about maternity leave and so on.  I keep putting these things off until tomorrow and suddenly tomorrow is today.  I hope everyone grabs an opportunity to enjoy some summer before it’s all over!
