Happy Fourth of July – by Lisa Kelly

I am headed out of town for the 4th of July but wanted to take a moment to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday.   I think we often take our independence for granted as we have never known a day when we weren’t free.   I have a lot of restrictions placed on me for this trip since it’s ten hours by car and there is a concern for blood clots from sitting too long.  Those restrictions and my reaction to the constraints seem silly compared to what women in some other countries put up every day.  

Safe travels to everyone hitting the road and as you enjoy time with your family and/or friends, give thanks for your independence and remember those who fight every day to keep us all free!
