Introducing Wendy Sue Noah — Our New Later Mom Blogger

wendysuenoahheadshotHello Motherhood Later Community,

Such a great pleasure to meet you!

I am truly honored to Motherhood Later founder Robin Gorman Newman for inviting me to blog for this magnificent community, and as a passionate writer, mother and entrepreneur, here I am!

Robin suggested that my first blog be an introduction of myself, so where to start? Let’s begin with how I became a mother, as my story is a bit exceptional.

When I turned 30, I was living the life I had always dreamed of in San Francisco. My professional career was at an all-time high with creative exploration of my skills, after launching Match.Com in a San Francisco basement. My dating life was exciting, and I enjoyed friends from all walks of life, from millionaires to struggling artists.

I had escaped Boston when I turned 27, where it was too cold and conservative for me, and took a one way trip to San Francisco to start my new life, without knowing one person. Yet, I was smart, and after winning all expense paid vacations for hitting my sales quota two years in a row, I requested for the company that I was working for to transfer me. And they did, happily!

Then something very strange happened to me. I realized that I was having too much fun, and that I did not come here for that. With complementary guidance from several mentors, my focus became a desire to find a “spiritual master” to guide me to serve our planet. A bit crazy, maybe, but this became my passion.

And, of course, any of you familiar with the Law of Attraction knows that what we focus on, becomes reality. With that in mind, my so-called “spiritual master” arrived, in which I remained in blind faith that God had chosen him for me. We performed a spiritual marriage to serve God, and over ten years together, we reproduced five beautiful babies! Three of my children were born when I had turned 35 and older.

That was, by far, the best most extraordinary part of that decade, which mostly included tremendous abuse and control, in the name of God. Finally, when I started to stand up for myself and the children, he threw me out on the street like garbage, believing that I would just rot away and leave him and the children alone.

Surprise, surprise! He didn’t know that I am a Polar Bear mom, and fought for custody of the children, which I won, even though I was homeless and jobless at that time. Miracles continued to unravel for us, and I’ve written an inspirational memoir available on Amazon, detailing our incredible journey together.

Now that I’ve got that unique introduction out of the way, let me bring you to the present. I’m a single mom with no family here in Los Angeles and with a restraining order against their dad. I’ve developed some friendships over the years, but life is so busy for all of us, so I’m basically on my own. My greatest strength comes from my faith and connection to the Source of all of creation.

I’ve built up a successful business for myself here in my home office, utilizing my professional skills and my college degree in Mass Communications. I offer social media services and more, with the slogan of “Social Media With A Conscience.” In a way, I’m back where I was supposed to be at 30, serving our planet through the use of social media. Only this year, I turn 50!

So please look out for my blogs here in this space, which will include what it is like to be a single mom with a tribe of five with no family or assistance, and what it is like to work out of a home office with very little adult contact, and how amazing it is that my oldest child, Ocean, is turning 18 this year!
Thank you for reading, and I look forward to sharing and caring with you. Here’s a recent picture of me and my tribe from last summer at The Magic Castle in West Hollywood:
