Portraits & More on Wood by Robin Gorman Newman

woodlogoI recently heard from this company, and just have to share.  Whether you’re looking for a special gift or for something for yourself, you’ll want to know about Woodific.

Woodific turns personal photo memories and more into artwork on wood.  Founded by Nevena Budakov and Predrag Terzin, an ambitious husband and wife team, they moved to the United States from Serbia with two suitcases, a room rented online and a big dream.  They vowed that within a year, they would launch a business, and they did just that. The business that resulted is Woodific, and they made their first sale on the company’s 1st anniversary. They took this as a hugely positive omen, and the rest is photo history.

Nevena and Predrag view Woodific as a passion, not simply a business. “Being able to work with people’s precious photo memories, to enhance them and make them unique and special – that’s what our mission is all about,” they explain.

Aside from photos, they offer a wide selection of inspirational sayings and stock images that are available as art.  And you can create a collage of various images, sayings, etc.  Another thought —  if your child creates artwork, take a photo and turn it into a Woodific creation.

Their products are developed from scratch in San Diego, so they employ many local residents, and they pride themselves on offering high quality, low prices, fast delivery and responsive customer service.

woodsmokeyI submitted two photos — one of my pet cockatiel Smokey and the other of my son Seth doing karate.  The photos were reproduced as 8×8 wooden plaques, and I opted not to hang them, but to display on wooden easels sent to me by Woodific.  They work great.  The quality of the image reproduction is so high. I’m truly impressed. The images are vivid, and there is both a rustic, yet elegant feel.

woodblogThey also created a logo plaque, which I love displaying on my desk.

If you’re giving a gift, I have to add that their brown bag packaging, with their whimsical woodchuck logo, is nicely done and presents well.

These days, I keep most of my photos on my computer or phone, so to select some special ones that I’d like to preserve for posterity and display, on wood, is a nice way to go.
